The Health Information Resource Center announced this week the winners of its bi-annual World Wide Web Health Awards, an effort to recognize the best Web-based health-related content for consumers and professionals as well as providing a \"seal of quality\" for electronic health information. A panel of international health information and Internet experts judged entries based on accuracy, success in reaching the targeted audience and overall quality, and gave Nutrimaps.com an award in the Health Promotion/Disease & Injury Prevention Information Class. The WWW Health Awards success marks Specialty Diets\' fourth award win in the past year for separate implementations of its ForMyDiet(TM) nutrition and Disease management platform.
Nutrimaps.com was also recognized as a leading diabetes eNutrition source at the American Diabetes Association\'s 54th Annual Advanced Postgraduate Course, by Lona Sandon, MEd, RD, LD, from UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, Texas, during her workshop titled \"Useful Tools on the Web: For Patients and Professionals\". Ms. Sandon is a spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association, and was previously awarded the Excellence in Media Award by the Dallas Dietetic Association, an award that recognizes registered dietitians who have made significant contributions to assisting the media in providing sound scientific information to the public.
